For some reason, my ice maker is not working although it is turned on.

It filled with ice a few weeks back and has since been emptied but is no longer making ice.

Can someone help me diagnose what's wrong?

Does it fill with water?

Do you have water from the water dispenser?

How old is the water filter?

I'm not sure....but I don't hear any of the regular noises that it makes when the water is circulating and the ice drops into the bucket/tray.

I do believe that the filter needs to be replaced as the sensor light is on.

Could that be the cause of the problem?

If the filter is clogged then it does not let any water through. Most of water filters must be replaced every six months.
