This dryer is a three cycle dryer and only works when it is in the medium heat mod. I have replaced timer and resistor and nothing has changed. Somebody told me it could be heat sensor or thermostat , I need more advise before replacing any more parts.

Here are your parts Parts for GE DRB4400SBLWW Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comDo you have the wiring diagram? I d not have access to GE wiring diagrams. Do you have a meter? You will need one to trouble shoot the unit. Below is a link that may help. http://www.applianceaid.com/ge-dryer-troubleshooting.phpTake a look in #28 Sample Wiring Diagrams. I think your unit is close to the Older style electric GE, Hotpoint... I would check the elements first. Remove the wires from then and check them with a meter. They are usually in the 10 to 20 ohm range. You remove the wires to ensure that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path. Often you can see if there is a break in one of the elements. Next I would check the thermostats. They should all be 0 ohms (closed) at room temperature. Lastly check the temperature selector switch is actually working correctly. The wiring diagram gives what contacts should be closed at which setting. Be sure to mark of make yourself a wiring diagram of where the wires attach. Hopefully someone else will jump in with a wiring diagram or at least some correct info as I am just guessing here |
