My Maytag Bravos MCT washing machine (toploading but with the same technology as the frontloaders) is not working how it should. When it gets to the wash cycle, after filling with water it just sits until the time completes and then moves to the rinse cycle. It also does not agitate in the rinse cycle. I have found that if I push pause, and then restart it while in the wash cycle, then it will agitate. Same in the rinse cycle......but it won't do it unless I pause and restart. It is also not draining spinning when it should. I usually have to turn it to the drain/spin cycle separate when the washing is complete, otherwise the clothes are so wet they would never dry. What do you think this is?

Sounds like a control unit issue. I would try replacing it and see if that fixes things. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it.
If you need more information please post a full model number so we can see exactly what model you have.
