Thanks for the education! This site is wonderful! My Amana is suffering from the "freezer is cold, frig is warm" problem. I have read through most of the sticky about this type problem. I have taken the freezer drawer out, removed the back panel to reveal the frozen fins, and have a fan blowing on it to thaw/evaporate the ice. Here's a photo of what it looks like: http://www.strucktower.com/freezer.jpgI'm wondering if you can tell by looking at the frost pattern what caused this? I'm assuming the thermostat and defrost timer are in there under the frost, so I haven't tried checking it out yet. The fan works as it should. There was nothing blocking the vents. Thanks! Press the fridg light switch 5 times within six seconds, fridg should go into defrost, the compressor will stop running. If not, you probably have a bad control module behind the control panel. You can press the light switch 5 more times to go back in run mode. If the module is bad, it's a good idea to also replace the defrost thermostat clipped to the top of the evaporator. You can get your parts at this site.
