My fridge quit staying cool and I noticed the freezer frosted over in the back so I unpluged it and let it sit over nite to defrost then I turned the tempetures to coldest when I pluged it back in but now I have to defrost it every week.

There is definitely something wrong with the defrost system. What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene.

Remove the rear panel inside the freezer. Check for continuity the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater. The defrost thermostat must be ice cold at the time of the test.

If both parts tested OK, replace the defrost timer (#23 at the diagram).

- The defrost thermostat Part number: 5303918202
Part number: 5303918202

- The defrost heater Part number: 5303918208
