Freezing not freezing, but cool. I dont know exact temperature. Refrigerator feels not as cold as normal. Got home yesterday from work and the freezer door was open a couple of inches. Most things thawed/thawing. Closed the door, but things kept melting. There is air blowing in the freezer. However, the left, upper side of the refrigerator is usally warm to the touch, now is cool. Do I need a new refrigerator?
I also dont' know the specs of my refrigerator: Dimensions & cu ft? trying to find info online, becuase if I have to repalce with new I have limited space to do so.

Hi.
Unplug the fridge for 24hrs and then plug it back in. Keep the doors open while defrosting.
Post the results.

Ok. Its plugged. How come you have to wait so long to plug it in?

how long after it's plugged in before it gets to freezing if it's going to work?
1.5 hours, doesn't seem very cool

4 hours so far and its still not getting cool
worth a fix or new one?
what brand are best?

Simon. Left unplugged for 6 hours, not any cooler. Unplugged since wife was worried it would catch on fire. Has not been unplugged for over 30 hours. try again? or try something else or give up? Did the open freezer door cause the problem? what brands of refrigerators are best? thanks pdl2

Hi.
Did you have it unplugged initially for 24hrs?
Check if the compressor is running. You should feel the vibration when touching it.

Simon. yes it was unplugged for 25 hours. i believe the compressor (on the bottom of fridge? looks like a little tank? ) was running. However, the left, top side of the fridge was usually warm to the touch, and was cool after 6 hours.
