I have an Monogram ZE2160SF05 that after cooking a minute or two sounds like its going to slow down and stop, then surges louder and continues this irregularly throughout the cooking. It cooks fine. The platter does not slow down. The GE repairman came out, made a few calls, then told me that this is normal. REALLY?

Hi.

If you are programming defrost or partial power output (less then 100%) then microwave will act as you describing.
Try to cook at the full power.

Post the results.
