My side by Side GE REF needs a new temperature control board. I ordered the part, but the part has been replaced by GE and will not work. It doesn't have the needed connectors I have in the frig. I have two female connectors in frig, and one tape end connector. One connector calls for three prongs, the other for seven prongs. The new board has only one three prong connector. It will not work so I sent it back. GE has replaced the board several times, the new one they recommend has only one three prong connector. The frig is only 5 years old, everything else works find what can be done?

Hi.

Did you order the WR55X10172? That shows as correct part with right connectors. There is no information on the substitution.

Simon.

That is bad news for me because that part does not fit my refrigerator. I had to return it. I have attached several pictures of connectors in my side by side. It has two connectors and board only has one.

There has to be a former board that was made for the refrigerator and available on some side. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. Thanks very much.

Hello,

GE has redesigned this part and changed the part number. WR55X10172 is the correct part number for this part. All suppliers must sent all old parts back to GE.

If you can post a pictures from both sides of the old and the new parts it might help to identify the problem.

Gene.
P.S. BTW, what was the original problem with the refrigerator and why do you believe the temperature control board is the culprit?
