Hi All,

My Whirlpool LSN1000JQ0 won't drain unless and until I physically shake the machine. After that it starts draining after a few seconds. Any idea what could cause this?

Is there a float switch of some sort? What would shaking the machine do to start the drain process? Agitates and spins fine and once the draining starts, it drains fine.

Thanks for the help!

There's no float switch. Is the motor running when this happens? If not, I'd say you have a bad connection within the timer contacts. If it is running, it may be something in the pump, drain hoses, or in between the tubs at the drain hole exit.

Thanks for the help.

Turns out it was the lid switch. The switch was flakey and recognizing the lid as completely closed.

Ah, yes, the lid switch. That makes sense. Thanks for reporting back and good job getting it fixed.
