I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher (SN:f01508654) that is about 2 1/2 years old. It started stoping shortly after starting the cycle. I would hit cancel and start it back up and it would go ahead and finish the cycle. It later began stopping more and more frequently at various times during the cycle until it eventually stopped finishing a cycle. If I try to run it now, it starts but shuts off right after I push the start button. All the lights go out when it stops. A local tech told me that he could about bet that I need a new motor (without looking at it). Do you think he is right? THANK YOU!

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool DU1055XTVT1 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. I doubt it is the motor as that should not effect the lights. I would have suspected one of the door switches but since you could just hit cancel and start it up again That would also be low on the list. At the top f my list would be the control board. Try removing power from the unit (unplug or flip the breaker off) for a couple minutes. If it now runs past where it was stopping then I would replace the control board as it reset so probably has an electronic problem. Try running the diagnostics. Note that they may run OK and the board may still be bad. |
