I have a kitchen aid superba built in unit. We have had trouble with it in the past and had it repaired under warranty. About a year ago it stopped making ice and the freezer would be frozen one minute and then refridgerator temperature the next. We didn't have the money to repair it again and we simply stopped using the freezer (as a freezer). Now, we are finding that the milk is going bad quickly and sometimes it doesn't seem cold enough. I know that this unit is VERY difficult to work on because the compressor is located in the back. That said, my husband is VERY handy and is willing to try and fix it. We were told that it may simply need a charge?? Not really sure what that means, but am hoping that we can do something besides replace it.

Any help that you can offer is greatly appreciated.
