Hello,
My problem began on Sunday. Range top works. The lock light illuminated on oven display. I could not set temperature to preheat my oven. When I tried, the word 'door' showed up in the display window. I could cancel that, but the lock light stayed on. The oven door could be opened at that point. After reading other posts, I decided to do the paper towel cleaning on the buttons, and then lifted up on the actual oven door. Now the door is latched and I cannot open it. I tripped the breaker and left off for a while, but door will still not open. Can anybody tell me if there is something I can do, or am I hosed and have to call an appliance repair person???? Please Help!!!!! Thank you! Linda

I am having the same problem. When I close the door the word door comes on in white lights and the oven begins to growl like it wants to do self-cleaning. Then the door locks when the noise is occuring.
I have to leave the oven door open.......the red word lock flashes and the oven light is on.
please help

Hello,
No one on the appliance parts forum helped me. I ended up calling a repairman who diagnosed the oven Door Lock Assembly bad. He gave me the part number for my stove, I found it on ******** for half what they wanted and my husband put in on when it came. Don' know what kind of stove you have but for my Sears Kenmore, the part number was WB26X127 NEW 336910. I got it for $49.99. Good luck!
