Hi there,

We recently replaced the door seal on our dishwasher - it was not leaking at all previously, but the seal had become 'gunky' and we replaced it at the same time we had the jets cleaned out. We had a local repair guy do the work, and he is having trouble determining why the door now leaks at the top when the top sprayer comes on.
In another forum someone mentioned soaking the seal in hot water prior to install - I know that he did not do this - is that important?

He has ordered new door hinges as he suspects that the door is not latching properly - he is basing this on the fact that the door no longer lays level when opened all the way, he says that it has been pressed down at some point and that new hinges will correct this... does that sound right to anyone? Just wondering why it didn't leak before...

Any other suggestions at all? If you look up the part on this site, you will see that 2 others also had issues with leaks after reinstalling, and one is questioning if the part is out of spec...

Thanks for any help!

I think he is right. Some time latching problem create water leaking.
