I believe someone overloaded machine and it threw the retaining spring to the door seal, and consequently the seal.
Is there an easy way to put this thing back together?
Can't get the front panel off like with the larger machines without taking drum out. There must be a trick to this?

Ok, the bad news, GE will not release service manuals or tech data on its machines.

But the good news, this is not a GE washer. This is a Frigidaire manufactured machine sold under the GE label. So I can link you to the Frigidaire service manual which should show you how to replace the seal. It is about a medium difficulty job, but with help and the manual you should be able to do it.

Here is the link to the manual.

Good luck
