So this problem started around Christmas of this year and seems to have gotten worse. We were cooking a roast, and all of a sudden my wife heard a "click" (she says same noise as when its done preheating) and the electronic display went black on the oven. It also shuts the oven off, gets cool, when the display shuts off. A few minutes later it came back on and worked for quite a while. Now whenever we turn the oven on it stays on for just a brief amount of time and then shuts off. Just wondering if the electronic read out needs replaced, or if its possibly a temperature probe gone bad. Hoping someone will read this post and let me know. Thank you in advance

A model number may help others help you.

Kenmore models are usually 3 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits.

I doubt it is a bad oven sensor (probe) as it should not shut off the display.
Could be you have a bad connection in the unit.
Could also be a bad control.
