WHIRLPOOL FAULT CODE F5 E1.. Trying to diagnosis Oven self cleaning fault code which refers to latch switch or solenoid.
Whirlpool Range RF386PXEQ0 Self Cleaning Fault... Fault F5 E1 displayed when attempting to use self cleaning feature. The latch, rod and solinoid all move freely when manually manipulated. I did a little checking with a VOM and this is what I found.

No voltage at Door latch Solenoid when control activated. Solenoid shows 57ohms out of circuit. (Solenoid operates when external power applied...) Door Latch Switch is normally Open and Closed ( 0 ohms) when latch mechanism is engaged..Switch seems OK.
When latch is physically closed it mechanically latches shut and the latch switch is closed.
At this point starting the self cleaning cycle still shows same code after a few seconds. I'm wondering if this is a BAD BOARD??? or what am I missing? The control board is expensive so I want to make sure that's the problem.

Hi.

Check the wire harness from the door switch and the latch switch to the control board.
Replace the door switch Part number: 3196262
Part number: 3196262

Press and hold any key for 1 min, then press cancel to erase the F2.
If that doesn't take care of the problem - replace the control board Part number: 6610057
Part number: 6610057

Check the color and order the correct one Control Panel parts for Whirlpool RF386PXEQ0 - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Thanks.. The latch switch and wiring are OK back to the board. I don't believe the door switch is part of the Cleaning Cycle on this model but I will check it before ordering control board.
