I have an LG wall oven showing an F9 code (oven not heating) any ideas as to what is wrong? I need parts manual and wiring schematic but I suppose that is hard to get. Internet search yielded one answer that on there oven it was the thermostat. They replaced it and it worked a while and the thermostat went out again. The parts diagram on this website show two thermostats. Also should I replace the thermistor? I am mechanically inclined and should be able to do the repairs myself, I think.

Hello,

The problem can be a bad oven sensor, aka a thermistor (#5021 at the diagram), a bad safety thermostat (#5116 and #5117 at the diagram), a bad Bake heating element (#5514 at the diagram) or a bad main control board (#2006 at the diagram).

Check the thermistor, the safety thermostats and the heating element for continuity.

The normal readings are: The thermistor - 1100 Ohms @ 77°F; The safety thermostats - 0 Ohms; The Bake heating element - 22 Ohms.

If all of the above parts check OK, replace the main control board.

- The thermistor Part number: 6322B62214A
Part number: 6322B62214A

- The safety thermostat 5116 - Part number: 6930W1A003X
Part number: 6930W1A003X

- The safety thermostat 5117 - Part number: EBG51439301
Part number: EBG51439301

- The Bake heating element Part number: MEE41716501
Part number: MEE41716501

- The main control board Part number: EBR43296802
Part number: EBR43296802

Have an LWD3081st Double Wall Oven. We received an error code of F9 on the top oven. The error happened after a self cleaning. I believe it was an issue with too high heat. We replaced the thermistor from the inside. That did not solve the problem. I just pulled the oven and replaced the thermostat (tiny $12 part). That did solve the problem. However, could have been a combination of both parts. It is a very simple fix once you pull out the oven and take off the back plate. I recommend buying both parts and replacing cine the cost is so low. BTW, it would have cost $200+ if we called an outside service. Well worth the trouble. NOTE: I also used double stick velcro to re-attach the trim below. This way it will be easy to take off if the repair is needed again. I recommend NEVER using self clean on the LG LWD3081st.

Need some help, I followed the recommendations here for an F-9 error and found that the LG Electronics EBG51439301 Electric Oven Thermostat was bad, I replaced it and we used the oven without issues for about one week. Then we got the F-9 error again, I tested the safety thermostat and it is bad again.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I have not used self cleaning mode.

Thanks, Brian
