Hello,

We have a GE TBX21IABLRWW refrigerator with two issues.

1) I'm getting excessive noise from the evaporator fan area - it sounds like either the blade is hitting something or the motor is failing (possibly bearings). Am I correct in thinking that to get to it, I must remove the ice tray holder and the interior panel? It looks like there are one or more foam strips in there - are they likely to disintegrate on me?

2) In the freezer compartment, it builds up an ice wall the height and width of the back wall of the freezer section. I've googled for this and haven't been able to find anything that really matched. What is the likely cause of this and the testing procedure to verify?

Thanks for your help!

No help? Please!

I thought it might be in the defrost system, but the threads I've seen about defroster timers (and the indicators listed in the owners manual) don't quite seem to match - none of them mention an ice wall on the back of the freezer compartment.

I'd greatly appreciate some help with this!

Thanks.

Good question! I'll have to empty the freezer and pull that back panel in order to see (this may have to wait until the weekend, due to the hours I'm pulling at work). Thanks for your response - I will post results as soon as I can.
