The control board on my dishwasher partially melted. At first I assumed the burning smell was caused by plastic on the heating element, but I could not find any melted plastic. So I opened up the inside of the door, and sure enough, the control board was melting. Any ideas as to what would cause that to happen?

I've located the replacement board, WD21X10241, so I can order that. But one of the wire harness connectors also melted and is not salvageable. Any idea where I can order that connector? It's black plastic and holds 8 wires.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

I do not think GE sell connectors and/or wire harness for this dishwasher separately.

Thanks for the info, that's too bad. I did a little research and see that GE had a recall a few years back due to water condensation dripping onto the control board which could cause a short circuit, resulting in an overheated connector.

This sounds like exactly what happened on my unit.

If this recall has not expired yet, you can try to call GE.
