The hvac unit does not run for more than 7 seconds in heat mode. A/C side works fine, fan works in manual mode, but when turned to heat the unit only runs for seven seconds and turns off. Ge tech has already replaced all circuit boards, transformer, wiring harness and capacitor, with no change in function. We tried to use electric heat only option no heat pump and still had same result. We bypassed the thermal relay/protectors same result. Any Ideas ???

Hi.
You should check the heating element. I believe if it's open the computer board won't turn the compressor on without sensing the temperature rise.

Simon. I'll give it a shot thanks........I dont suppose you know of a trouble shooting guide for these things do you. We've got close to 200 of these units and the GE techs seem to shotgun everything rather than diagnose anything.

You should contact the GE customer service for the manual.
