I have an Amana ice and water in french door refrigerator. Model number AFI2538AEQ. The lights on the control panel are flashing and the flapper for the ice dispensor is opening and closing.

I was having the same problem. You need to replace the High Voltage Control Board, part #AP4014490 (Whirlpool 12920710 High Voltage Control Board - AppliancePartsPros.com). Appliance Parts Pros have the best price around - I can pretty much guarantee you that. It is an extremely simple part to replace. It literally will take you about 5 minutes to install. I only had one issue, and it was with the programming sequence. The board comes unprogrammed, and you are supposed to program using the code noted on the model/serial# panel inside the fridge. I was following the instructions correctly, but the fridge would not accept the code noted on my panel (1412). I was at my witt's end, and I started searching around the web looking for an answer. I found a post on another part supplier's website, where someone was providing the instructions on how they installed and programmed their control board. They said their code was 0302, so I tried that in mine and voila - it was accepted and in minutes the compressor kicked on. The fridge is ice cold and in normal working order. Good luck!

Thank You so much for posting the information about the refrigerator code.
We too had the same issue after replacing the high voltage board. Our refrigerator did not operate in full capacity no ice, no water for over 24 hours.
The code that was inside the fridge was not the right one, and there was no information provided with the part.

We are grateful for the post with the code for our Amana model.
Thanks again,
Cheryl & Gerry Whittaker
