Evaporator was totally iced up, Fan is ok.

Following instructions I found, I jumpered J11 (Line) and J9 (Defrost Heater), and plugged unit in. The heater did not glow or get warm. (I assume it should happen right away because jumpered)

I removed heater, and tested for continuity with Digital Multimeter, but it seems open. Also, glass is very dark. I put heater back in and with jumper still on J11 to J9 I checked for voltage at each end of heater and ground, but got zero volts.

Back on motherboard, I removed jumper from J11-J9 and checked for voltage between J11 (Line) and chassis, but got zero as well.

It seems that heater went bad and possibly took the motherboard out as well?

I should add that a few days before we noticed the refrig. getting warm, we heard a "groaning" sound from the area of the Ice maker/evaporator fan, but it went away after a day. When the cooling problem surfaced a few days later, the first thing I looked at was the evaporator fan, but it seems fine and noise has not returned. Not sure it was related, but wanted to mention that.

Thank you.

No ideas from anyone?
Plenty of views of my post, but I guess no one has experience diagnosing the motherboard.
