Ok I bought this washing machine about a year and 8 months ago. It is a cheap $450 dollar model. I went to wipe the dirt off of the serial number label and it wped the label off instead. So I don't have the model # or serial #. I did open it up and I have the repair sheet from the back panel.

So it won't agitate or spin at all. It drains and runs through everything else just fine. It even makes the noises like it is trying to spin, but nothing happens.

I have looked for the LED light on the motor and cannot find it. I opened up the wiring harness on the side and found the fused link. It is a tiny black fuse but it looks ok. I don't know how you can tell if it is blown or not though. I also removed the discharge pump and cleaned it out. It wasn't that dirty. Lastly I tried spinning the drum at the pulley and it spins both ways just fine.

I found the model #WHDSR316GWW

So it is working just fine now. I wanted to go on here and post what I think fixed it for me.

First I disconnected and reconnected all of the connectors to the motor.

Next I went up to the panel. There is a switch for load size and on that switch there is a RESET selection. I turned the knob to reset and held it there for 10 second. Then I opened and closed the top door 5 times. I don't think the door thing did anything, but I read on another post that is part of reseting some washers. So I thoguht I would post it just in case it actually was relevent.

So I put it all back together and turned it on from the beginning. I looked under the drin screen on the motor circuit board and there was the green indicator light. It flashed "all normal standby" and then when it was agitating and when it was spinning it flashed "all normal running".

So there you go. I hope this helps somebody else out before they take the whole machine apart or spend some money on a new motor. Good luck guys.

Same model # GE washer bought in 2008, Hope to find LED codes, (ours is blinking 6 times) any help? We've tried to reset by unpluging everything, and the open and close the top technique- will try reset load switch and post back...anybody have more ideas? Thanks

P.S. I discovered that it could be a locked rotor, but I'm still afraid I'll need a new motor, any advice from other GE owners?
