I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner IV that won't work right. The model is GU1500XTLQ1. It is about 8 years old. The Pots and Pans cycle seems to sort of work. The led lights, the display shows the time, the Sensing and Water Heating leds light up, it washes but the timer gets stuck on a time or won't ever pick a time. The other wash cycles don't always work. Sometimes one or another of them will work but may or may not work correctly. Mostly when I press the other wash cycle buttons nothing happens, no leds light up, nothing runs. The only Option button that will make its led light is Air Dry, the others don't light up. The Reset button works. The Control Lock works. I press the High Temp Scrub, Air Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Air Dry buttons to start the diagnostic cycle but nothing happens, no leds light up, no display. I opened the control panel and plugged and unplugged all the connections. They all look clean and tight, the ribbon cables look good, the control board looks fine. Its all clean and dry inside. Any suggestions?

Hello, The problem can be a bad control panel (more likely) or a bad control board (less likely). Unfortunately Whirlpool did not offer any reliable tests for such situation. So, the solution is to replace the control panel first and, if it would not fix the problem, replace the control board. The good thing is: if you'll order both parts from APP, then you can return unneeded part later. If you need the correct part number for the control panel, post the color of it. - The control board Part number: 8564543
