Our 6 yr.? LG Disherwasher sounds like it is ready to quit, but still cleaning and washing effectively. Yesterday, mid way through the washing cylce I heard a noise that did not sound normal. The cycle finished and everything looked clean. Today, I decided to try again, and the noise is even louder, but I can hear the water action that seems normal as it washes.
What could be the problem? I replaced the heating element about six months ago and was very happy with the results. I was still having a problem with the start up since I had to flip the circuit breaker everytime, even though it would not actually trip it. It the power light was not turning off at the end of the cylce, but I would hear the little bell chime off and on for about an hour after the cylce completed, then eventually the power would shut off before I would go to use it again, thus the trip to the circuit breaker.
Any suggestions? -Frustrated with hopes of having my dishwasher in operation for festivities forthcoming.

The hum is constant during the washing cycle. I cannot pinpoint it, but would suspect it is from the motor.

Remove the toe panel and verify if that noise is coming from the pump. If it does then the pump and motor assembly has to be replaced. In regards of the power light problem - if the power button is not blocked with foreign material, then most likely the correction is to replace the control board. If you need the correct part number, post the serial number of the dishwasher. - The pump & motor assembly Part number: AJH31248604
