my compactor 'on' switch had to be kept in start position to get it to work.

i replace the reverse switch and now the ram keeps trying to go up and does not reverse to go down and does not work.

i saw that the reverse switch is mounted in a slotted opening and i am guessing that positioning the switch is crucial.
i tried a few positions with no change other than sometimes i didn't have to turn the switch to hear the ram trying to go up.

any ideas if the reverse switch lever has to be adjusted or if the switch has to mounted in a certain position in the slotted hole,

thanks
