I have replaced the lower oven element twice and it glows on three sides, but not the back. I found a posting on the internet of someone with the same problem. http://www.doityourself.com/for...-glowing-entirely.html#b His picture looks exactly like the element in my oven. Could it be a a batch of defective elements? Really, this shouldn't be a difficult repair. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Hi.
This is not the oven it's the bad batch of the elements. Trace the manufacture date and see if you can find the different one.

Thank you for your reply, Simon. I am now on the third replacement and it still only heats on three sides. This is the only element on the website that has the measurements and configuration, so it could not be another element. My husband checked the resistance and continuity of one of the new elements and it tests good. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi.
I know it's not the best answer but if you don't look at this element does it works OK? If it does, let it be.
Simon.
