This is a Canadian refrigerator, just over a year old. Got up this morning and found that the freezer was no longer freezing. I removed the back panel inside the freezer compartment and saw that there was no frost anywhere on the evaporator coils. All the normal sounds are there and the fan in the freezer compartment is blowing just fine.

What should I do next? Fortunately it is -38C so our frozen goods are just in a cupboard outside!

I got the model number from inside the unit, but have seen the 2R portion dropped when I was looking online so, GTH18HBCWW

Pull it away from the wall and remove the cover over the machine compartment. Put your hand on the compressor and see if it's running. If it's not running check for supply voltage at the compressor.

I had it unplugged so I put my hand on the compressor and plugged it in. I could feel the compressor start and the fan that sits right beside it started going. I unplugged then plugged it in again, nothing. Unplugged and plugged it in again and it went 'click' and then the compressor started again.

How long should it take before the tubes in the freezer compartment start to get cold? It has been on for 1.5hrs and so far the tubes are not cold at all and the compressor is not even warm to the touch.
