I have this Mv that started acting up today. Display operates normally. You set the cook time and it starts and runs but turns off after 3 seconds. There is a ticking type noise while it runs that is new also. Can anyone point me in a direction ?

The display is fine. It counts down and returns to normal. There is a funny noise though from the right side. Not the usual sound it made

So, how did you know it was shut off?

If you set the timer for 2 minutes it starts and runs but the cycle stops after 3 seconds. The inside light turns off and the timer returns to normal and it beeps twice.

Try to run the microwave with the control panel open. If it will run as usual then the magnetron has gone bad. - The magnetron Part number: W10216360

What do you mean by "control panel open"?

Unplug the microwave. Remove the screws located in front on top of the microwave securing the grille. Pull outward on the top portion of the grille releasing the tabs. Remove the screw located at the top of the touch panel. Pull the top of the touch panel toward yourself but do not release the bottom tabs. Now the control panel is open for about 30°.
Do not touch anything behind the control panel. Plug the microwave back. Reset the clock and try to run it.

I did as suggested. Loosened control panel and tried to run cycle. Does the same thing, starts /runs / stops at 3 sec. There is a noticeable ticking coming from the area above the control panel on the right as it runs.

Sounds like there are two bad parts: the magnetron and the control board. The part number for the magnetron I posted earlier. - The control board Part number: W10216336
You have to remove the microwave from the cabinet to access the magnetron. Gene.
