My fill tube that feeds the ice maker freezes over and of course stops feeding the ice maker. I've pulled the ice maker out and dethawed and it appears to work again only to again freeze over.

Is there a valve or something in place that is supposed to only call for water when needed? It seems like this may continually be leaking water from the fill tube and causese the entire tube to freeze up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

FYI, shortly after this issue appeard the entire refridgerator went dead on me and I had to change out the main control board. there appeared to be evidence of moisture on the board.

Thanks

Hi.

First check if the fill tube inside the icemaker is not touching the vertical wall of the inlet cup restricting the water flow.
If not - replace the water inlet valve located at the rear bottom of the fridge Part number: WR57X10032
Part number: WR57X10032

Most likely the dripping water from the supply tube killed the control board.
