Whirlpool Gold 25.4 cu. ft. Model: GD5SHA Refrigerator Freezer
Water dispenser is not working. When lever is pressed, nothing happens.

I suspect mechanical issue with lever to actuator mechanism in front door. I think pump and valve is fine. Dispenser worked fine before lever was hit/depressed too hard. Could the linkage or mechanism be simply out of place? or is it likely broken?

I need dis-assembly / assembly instructions and recommendations for troubleshooting the problem.

Thank for your help

Remove the two wire connector on the solenoid for the dispenser on the water valve. Set you meter to check VAC and insert the probes in each wire in the connector and press the lever. If your meter reads 120 VAC replace the water valve
