I am working on a LG Front Loader - WM2016CW.

When I run any cycle, the cycle starts but I eventually get a 'LE' ERROR Code when the drum is rotating during the beginning of the cycle's operation. Sometimes the drum motor stops immediately after beginning to rotate, or ties to start (making a humming noise) but locks up - stator is locked in place, not free. Sometimes the drum rotates but eventually the 'LE' Error Code occurs before the water empties. All symptoms occurs intermittently. I have tested it with just water in the drum, no laundry or soap. I am aware that it is required to use He laundry soap.

I did the "QC Test Mode" several times. The QC Test Mode instructions indicate the buzzer should sound twice when activating the Power button while pressing the Spin Speed & Soil Level buttons simultaneously - buzzer did not sound at all (none of the several attempts). The drum rotates intermittently during the 'Clockwise Tumble', 'Low Spin' and does not increase in speed for 'High Speed Spin' when it does spin. During each of these drum turning tests - the result is not constant; either the drum does turn, not at all or it seems like the drum is attempting to start to turn but in a mili-second is reversing direction (repeats). All water inlet functions occur, drain pump empties & the Counter Clockwise Tumble after the water tests usually did occur. I am not aware how to observe the water temp test.

I have a another question. In the QC Test Mode it discusses the Water Level Frequency... Can someone explain what the heck that is measuring? Is it the frequency of the AC current flowing through the heating element? BTW the water freq during the Drain Pump Function was 25.9kHz.

I have spent the day troubleshooting & searching on the internet for help. Having worked on the largest & most complicated firefighting apparatus in the USAF, it can be frustrating to know it is so simple to fix this washer with a few appropriate suggestions. Especially being out of work & the girl friend uses this washer to support us & two kids in her business! Thank you for your time & consideration of my inquiry!!!
