My Whirlpool dryer (model LGQ8800JQ2) timer will not advance in any of the heat modes so I am thinking I may need to replace it. The dryer does work but it will not shut off since the timer does not advance. Since I will have to order one I would like to be confident that the timer motor is actually the problem. Is there anything else that could be wrong with the dryer that would cause the timer not to advance?

Thanks for any help provided.
