I have a whirlpool washing machine, it is not spinning the clothes all the time. Some times it does but not very fast like it used to. I took it apart and the motor coupler is fine and was replaced about 2 years ago. The only thing I found was that the hose going from the tub to the water pump had a big split in it and had started to leak. Could this cause the lack of spinning very fast or not spinning at all? Could it be a transmission issue?
Thank you.

More likely is that it is a clutch issue.

Try replacing it and check out the brakes, see the Sticky by Richappy at the top of the main washer page.
