Hi there,

Well, I think I've figured out what's wrong, but just want to make sure.

Two days ago, our refrigerator stopped cooling.

GE Arctica PSS25MGNA
SN LD416512

At first, I thought it was the kids leaving the door open, but then after a couple hours, things kept getting softer.

The light and fans were working, just no compressor noise.

So, I unplugged it for a few hours and plugged it back in. No compressor.

I opened up the back and cleaned the dust off and then opened the main board inspection panel.

I bought a digital multimeter and based on another board issue check, checked the leads coming from the biggest wires. There were three of them. Labeled on the board: COMP, DEFR and LINE.

The only one with power (120 VAC) was the LINE one. The other two had nothing indicating.

So, I'm assuming I have a bad logic board and will need to replace it.

However, on the replacement boards I've seen on this site, there isn't the large COMP, DEFR and LINE thing. I'm assuming a different design.

Let me know if I'm correct in my thinking/testing.

Thanks,

Jim
