I have a Kenmore washer and the other night during a load oflaundry the washer started making a loud noise during the spin cycle. When I started the next load the noise wasthere from the beginning so I checked inside to find that the agitator and thetub both were not moving at all. They won’tmove at all during the entire wash cycle. Checked the motor and it works fine. I replaced the Direct Drive Motor Coupling hoping that might be the problem. No such luck. I’m thinking that it might be the transmission since the main output shaftdoes not spin when the motor is running. I just want to make sure before I replace it that it’s not somethingelse like the clutch, brake or the drive block.

Hi.

Remove the agitator and check if the transmission shaft moves during wash cycle and if the drive block is OK.
If the shaft not moving and block is fine - replace the transmission Part number: 3360629
Part number: 3360629

Post the results.

Simon.
