Hi,

Every couple days I hear a horrible grinding noise coming from the fridge. After a while it goes away on its own. it sounds like the fan is rubbing on something metal.

Just want a pro opinion before i shell out $100 for a new motor.

Thanks!!

HI.

You need to determine what makes that noise. Most likely it's the evaporator fan motor. Open the rear panel in the freezer and check if there is anything restricting the fan.
If nothing - replace the motor Part number: 5303918549
Part number: 5303918549

It also could be the condenser motor.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Frigidaire GLHS38EESB7 Frigidaire/refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Simon.
