My freezer keeps forming an ice, block at the bottom till it creeps out far enough to leak out on to the floor and my ice maker is not working even after replacing the water valve

Model # GS6SHAXMQ00. It is like there is water leaking from somewhere in the frezzer and freezes at the bottom

One of the most common cause of the ice on the freezer floor is a blocked drain under the evaporator coils. Use a hair dryer to defrost it. Run some hot water through the drain using a turkey buster. Make sure the other end of the drain (at the back of the refrigerator) is not blocked either.

In regards of the ice maker problem check if the ice maker fill tube in the freezer ceiling is not blocked with ice.

The drain was blocked , thanks . The water feed for the ice maker was not as far I can tell anyways. what would be my next step for trouble shooting the ice maker. It is not rotating through its cycle. Does that trigger the valve?

Open the freezer door. Make sure the on-off switch on the right side is on. Close the flipper door on the left side to open the optic beam from side to side and observe the LED on the right side. Post the results.

I went ahead and replaced the whole unit. I figure something had to cause the gear to break . You have been very helpful .
