Washer was in the spin cycle and spinning at high RPM when I heard a lod noise. It wasn't a bang just a loud change in the sound of the spin cycle. The washer bega to slow down but didn't stop. I smelled something burning, pushed pause and when I opened the door smoke came rolling out. I took the clothes out restarted and it turned but made a squeeking noise in the front. I don't see anything broken (supports) and belt doesn't squeek. You guys have been phenominal in the past and I hope you can help me trouble shoot and repair this. Thank you in advance for your time and assitance in this matter.

I took the top and front of the washer off and found the squeeking sound to be coming from the drum rubbing on the grey gasket.T removed the grey gasket and saw that the drum does not spin in a nice circle but actually kind of oblonged with large gaps between the drum and housing on the top and very little gap between the drum and housing at the bottom. Please help. Thank you.

Hi.

Doesn't sounds good. Most likely the rear bearings are gone. They come as an assembly with the rear drum. Also check the basket shaft for grooves.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric WBVH6240F0WW Washer | AppliancePartsPros.com
