Also try to find a model with no electronics in it. Whirlpool or Maytag will be good. Absolutely no any front load washers. Absolutely no any non American washers. I know that some people will disagree but this is my personal opinion. I do have such washer at home and so far I do like it. Gene.

They are also marketing direct drive washers that are not a whirlpool,but probably Chinese. When you look at washers, verify it is a Whirlpool, direct drive washer, and not ones that have a lot of electronics and use a direct drive motor that acts as a transmission.
