The oven on my Frigidaire gas stove won't light ( the burners on top still light up though ), so I figured I need to change the oven ignitor. Only problem is that I've never done this before and I don't know where exactly the ignitor is in the stove and what the best way is to get to it. I have the parts manual for this Model# FGF326WGSA, but it really isn't clear on how to disasemble the stove where I need to. I was hoping one of the experts on this forum could look at the parts manual ( here's it's web address ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/Pr...ringfield/5995320180.pdf ) and maybe give me some advice. Thanks!

Remove the two screws (43) holding your oven floor (8) down using a flat blade screwdriver. Remove the nut (21) holding down the flame spreader (20) lift off flame spreader. Your igniter (19) is held in with 2 hex head screws (which sometimes strip) when taking them out. Unplug the igniter and replace with exact part.

Is there a way to test this ignitor to make sure it's bad?

A couple of ways....first do a visual inspection and look for cracks. Second you can do a continuity test of the igniter, and the one I like to do is...Go to Home Depot, purchase a circuit tester that tests voltage through wires (costs less than 20.00 bucks) leave the igniter plugged in and turn on your oven. Take the tester and place it against the wires on the igniter and if the tester starts beeping that means your igniter is getting power and therefore if the igniter does not glow, replace it.
