I have a whirlpool washer that is not draining. I have checked the pump, line for clogs, the impella looks fine and have removed the PUMP MOTOR for testing. My QUESTION; WHEN CHECKING RESISTANCE AS PER THE MANUAL! DO I TEXT WITH THE CAPACITOR ATTATCHED TO THE HARNESS OR DISCONNECTED? TESTING with the capacitor ATTATCHED yields 1-2 ohms where the Manual calls for 10-20 depending on the leads. If I test just the motor, unattached the meter reads infinity. I think the motor is bad but would like some confirmation before I replace it. Any help would be appreciated as the wife is getting cranky. I had 2 repair guys here yesterday, One said it was the helical drive, he seems questionable, and the second thought it was the pump motor but said it would be $400 to fix. So here I am. Thanks again for looking. Joe

Hi. The continuity check must be done without the capacitor. If the pump is getting 120VAC to it when in the drain cycle - replace the pump Part number: 285990
