Hi,
My Amana bottom freezer ARB8057CW is having ice build up (the freezer is cold, but the fridge is not). I tested the defrost heater and defrost thermostat which both had continuity when cold, so I believe that my problem is the defrost timer. When I take apart the panel where the timer is located I see that it's connected via a mechanical belt to the temperature control and the flap mechanism.

Does somebody have some instructions on how to replace the timer correctly so that the belt continues to do its job? I couldn't figure out how or why the timer was attached to the flap and temp knob.

Thanks in advance,
dean

Hi.

The belt you've mentioned doesn't attached to the defrost timer. It's controlling the air damper.

Here are the breakdown diagram and Controls replacement parts for Amana ARB8057CW REF - BOTTOM MOUNTS | AppliancePartsPros.com
