I was doing laundry and I think a sheet caught on my washer and before I knew it this white plastic piece snapped off. I looked at the parts diagram and I think it is the lid cam. The washer will fill with water but you need the lid closed to start the wash cycle/agitation. Without the broken piece the washer will not start the wash cycle. The piece is attached to the back of the lid and when the lid is closed it fits into a slot and seems to trigger something. It's kind of like the trigger that turns the light on and off in your refrigerator when you close and open the door. The piece seems to just snap into place on the lid and I was hoping to order the piece online and just replace it myself. If anyone can help me verify that I have the right piece or can direct me differently, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time, Sue:(

Thanks Denman, Are you saying that yes you think the lid cam is the correct part that I would be looking for? And Do you think this is something that I can fix myself and just snap into place? Thanks for your reply.

Are you saying that yes you think the lid cam is the correct part that I would be looking for? Yes but look at the pictures to make sure. And Do you think this is something that I can fix myself and just snap into place? We really do not know each other so I cannot say. If you have the savvy to go on the internet, find a site, ask the right questions and figure out what is wrong, then I can see no reason why you would not be able to fix an appliance. |
