Looking further I noticed that both sides are not cooling well. I have cleaned the coil in the back so far and checked for air leaks. THer is also frost building up on the back wall, the ice tray has water but will not freeze and dump. PLease help , thanks

More than likely the defrost heater caused the ice to build up. You can check the heater with an ohmmeter and if it is open replace it. [/FONT]Refrigerator repair guide

Unless you know the refrigerator was in defrost and the current flow was relatively high (8-10 amps or so). Even then it wouldn’t necessary prove it.

The next thing would be the senor. There are pictures on this page that will help identify faulty sensors and defrost thermostats. GE Refrigerator Repair Guide

Models with the same model # except for the last 3 digits pop up and take a #ah1993872 defrost heater. I call GE and get a #wr51x1053 from they're people. Trying to see if thats the same part with different #'s depending on vendor. GE is more expensive to order from if so. Thanks for any help
