Received two new seals and installed them. Neither seems to have enough magnetism to hold the door closed. We cleaned all the areas where the seal touches. Is there something we are overlooking?

Use a hair dryer to get the kinks out. Sometimes you need to adjust the door screws to get the warp out of the door. Best to install gasket with the door on a flat surface.

All kinks have been removed from the gasket. The problem is the absence of enough magnetism to hold the da thin filoor closed. Two new gaskets have been tried and tested for magnetic pull. There is so little that it's close to none. The little refrigerator door magnets have more pull.
Would a thin film of petroleum jelly help?
What would?

I would compare them to the old gaskets, if much weaker, send them back.
