I have a 5 year old Frigidaire side-by-side fridge that's having some difficulty. Every month or two, the ice builds up into a block the size of two fists, and starts impeding the blower fan. It looks like water is dripping down from the icecube maker water tube and dripping down into the blower area. When the icecube maker fills, the flow is initially normal, and the water goes right into the chute; however, for the last few seconds of flow the water actually comes out around the circumference of the tube, and some of it wells up outside of the chute... hence the drip. Any idea what could be causing the abnormal waterflow?

Typically what will happen is that the tube will clog or partially clog with ice. A faulty water valve causes this but you have had this problem for a while now I would think the tube would be completely clogged by now. Check for ice blocking water flow in the tube and in the inlet of the icemaker. If you do not see any ice you may want to replace the tube. Refrigerator repair guide
