My Gibson Upright Freezer compressor sparks and runs for 2-3 seconds and shuts down.
What do you expect might be the problem?

Thanks.

Sounds like the compressor motor is shorted out.

Gene.

You could have burnt pins on the compressor terminals. You might need a dremell grinder to clean them up, plus a new start device kit.
If you have an ohmeter, check the compressor pins for a short to ground.

I will do both. I have Ohmeter but not that good with it. What pins do I use?

Thanks for the help.
