I have a Whilpool dryer that suddenly stopped drying clothes. Normal loads now require 2-3, 60 minute cycles to dry!
Symptoms: I made sure exhaust hose/vent were completely clean/clear. The dryer spins appropriately. I confirmed that a glow occurs and a nice blue flame ignites quickly but only burns for approximately 10-15 seconds. After flame is out for several minutes, it will again glow and properly ignite with a blue flame, only to go out again after approximately 10-15 seconds. I replaced the coils but the dryer still shows the above symptoms - I also get the same results when I detach the hose which eliminates any type of obstruction issue. So, all appears to function appropriately accept the fact that the flame does not STAY ON long enough each time it ignites during the 60 minute run cycle. HELP! :(
