Recently the knob for the starter switch on my GE dryer broke. For a short term fix, while I looked for a new knob, I took the face off the dryer and started it by hand. All was fine until I was in a rush one day and as I turned the switch it touched a piece of metal. It touched right where the wire connects with the back of the starter switch and obviously sparked and fused itself to the metal. My questions are these. Do I just need to replace the starter switch? And if so can I buy an upgraded switch or do I need to find the same model#. Thank you for any advice you guys(or girls) can give me.
